The 2005 vintage stood out for its balance: a harsh winter, an early spring, and a generally warm summer led to a harvest of ripe, healthy, concentrated grapes. Often underrated, this vintage gave birth to full-bodied, expressive wines.

À l’Aube 2005 is made from equal parts Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grown on the Kimmeridgian slopes of Noé-les-Mallets, facing south/southeast at 320 meters altitude. This terroir, rich in clay and marine fossils, brings a mineral tension that balances the natural generosity of the vintage. Malolactic fermentation was only partially completed, and the wine was aged for 8 months in oak barrels. It was disgorged without any added sugar.

A wine for cellaring par excellence, this magnum illustrates the potential of patient, time-driven Champagne. Full, ripe and complex, with notes of candied fruit, it’s ideal for lovers of gastronomic Champagne and large formats.
