At the heart of the great chalky terroirs of the Côte des Blancs

Located in Cramant, a Grand Cru village at the heart of the Côte des Blancs, the Petitjean-Pienne estate relies on some of Champagne’s most emblematic terroirs for the expression of Chardonnay. The pure chalk soils, combined with ideal exposures, allow the production of grapes that are both ripe and naturally tension-driven, giving birth to wines that are precise, bright and mineral.

The vineyard also extends into Avize and Chouilly, two other benchmark villages, reinforcing this identity defined by finesse and purity. This presence across exceptional terroirs enables the estate to craft a coherent range focused on freshness, tension and the clear expression of the fruit.

A family estate spanning six generations

The Petitjean-Pienne estate is rooted in a long family history. For six generations, each member of the family has helped shape and develop the domaine while preserving the spirit of Champagne tradition.

After more than twenty years working alongside her father, Marie Petitjean has now taken over the estate. She continues this family expertise with the same high standards, while bringing her own vision to the vineyard.

The estate, covering around 3.5 hectares, deliberately remains on a human scale, allowing for precise and attentive work on every parcel.

An elegant signature.

The Petitjean-Pienne style is built above all on a search for purity and precision in the expression of Chardonnay. Blanc de Blancs Champagnes form the core of the range, with wines that are straight, tension-driven and elegant, highlighting the characteristic minerality of the Côte des Blancs.

Vinification, carried out mainly in stainless steel tanks, preserves the freshness and clarity of the fruit, while certain cuvées benefit from partial barrel aging to bring additional texture and complexity. Traditional pressing methods and long cellar aging further refine the wines’ structure and enhance their aromatic depth.

The result: precise, balanced and consistent Champagnes, appreciated for their finesse and clarity. Cuvées that remain faithful to their terroir, crafted for lovers of elegant and approachable Blanc de Blancs.
