A great wine from the last century, perfectly balanced and full of energy.

The 1999 vintage remained under the radar for years. After an unstable summer, sunshine returned in late season, allowing for a high-quality harvest with ripe grapes and promising acidity, the ideal foundation for long-aging champagnes.

At Louise Brison, À l’Aube 1999 reflects that generous and structured year. Made exclusively from the 1999 harvest, the blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay comes from the south/southeast-facing clay-limestone slopes of Noé-les-Mallets, at 320 meters elevation. This Kimmeridgian terroir, rich in marl, lends tension, finesse, and aging potential.

The wine was aged for six months in oak barrels with partial malolactic fermentation, preserving a fine balance between roundness and freshness. With zero dosage, the wine’s minerality and complexity shine through with precision.

Now offered in magnum, the perfect format for slow, graceful aging, this 1999 delights with floral and spicy aromas, a generous palate of ripe pear and candied fruit, and a delicate citrus finish. A rare witness from the last millennium, reserved for true connoisseurs.
