Champagne Gaston Collard - Extra Brut Grand Cru
This biodynamic Grand Cru signed Gaston Collard is a lively and round champagne.
It is made of grapes from the Grand Cru terroir of Bouzy, renowned for the maturity of its Pinot Noirs.
This cuvée is blended from freshly harvested Chardonnay (10%) and Pinot Noir (90%). This wine of the year is completed by an addition of reserve wine (20%) which gives it a beautiful complexity.
It is made from the same blend as the Zéro Dosage cuvée, but has been aged for a longer period of 24 to 36 months in the cellar. The extra-brut sugar dosage (5 g/l) accompanies the roundness slowly acquired by the wine during its maturation.
vThe result is a lively champagne with a nice natural acidity. It develops aromas of pear and a very long finish.
It is a champagne in the pure style of the Gaston Collard family house. It combines freshness and vivacity while developing the aromas of its terroir.
A champagne made for the aperitif!
Aspect: deep yellow, fine string of bubbles.
Nose: lemon and green apple aromas.
Palate: lively attack with some acidulous notes ending with a pear aroma. Good length in the mouth.
