A heatwave vintage, intense and surprising.

The year 2003 was marked by a historic heatwave in Champagne. The vines suffered, yields dropped, but the remaining grapes reached exceptional ripeness. Most champagnes from this vintage evolved quickly, sometimes at the expense of freshness, but not this one.

At Louise Brison, the harvest was vinified as a vintage, aged for eight months in oak barrels, and no malolactic fermentation was carried out in order to preserve every trace of acidity. The wine then underwent long aging on lees before being disgorged with zero dosage.

Made from equal parts Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grown on the clay-limestone slopes of Noé-les-Mallets, this champagne shows rich texture, vibrant, almost candied fruit, and remarkable suppleness, carried by a subtle yet vital freshness.

A precious expression of an extraordinary vintage, sunny, generous, and surprisingly well-balanced.
