A Chardonnay from the north of the Montagne de Reims, with calm and saline elegance.

Verzenay, bastion of Pinot Noir, sometimes holds a few surprises. This Blanc de Blancs 100% Chardonnay is one of them. Born on a terroir more often dedicated to black grape varieties, it astonishes with its precision and restrained indulgence.

Vinified in vats and aged for a long time on lees without malolactic fermentation, this cuvée plays a fine and chiseled register, without austerity. Softer in its expression than the tense Chardonnays of Villers Marmery, it nevertheless retains a beautiful saline thread in the finish. White fruit is present, peach, pear, discreet honey, without ever falling into opulence.

The result is a nuanced champagne, straight, slightly buttery but chalky, with a clear texture. A singular Blanc de Blancs, to be discovered by those who appreciate the more subdued expressions of Champagne's king grape variety.
