Champagne Pascal Mazet - Millésime 2012 Premier Cru

Gault & Millau 2018 : 16/20

Pascal Mazet Champagne - 2012 Premier Cru Vintage

Customer reviews

2012 was one of the most beautiful vintage years for Champagne and for Pascal Mazet who produced his first organic vintage champagne.

Fewer bunches of grapes and plenty of sun during this harvest year were indicative of extraordinary aromatic concentration, leading some oenologists to compare it with the outstanding years of 1990 or 1996.

The 2012 Premier Cru Vintage by Pascal Mazet was entirely matured in oak barrels and bottled after a year and a half of ageing on lees followed by 5 more years in the cellar.

This fruity champagne is a blend of Pinot Meunier (34%), Chardonnay (33%), and Pinot Noir (33%).

For which occasions should it be served?

This tasting brut champagne contains 7g of sugar per liter and makes a wonderful aperitif with friends. Our team recommends serving it with white meats or Iberian cold meats (jabugo, lomo).

Aspect: sharp yellow

Nose: woody and fine

Palate: structured, marked by lovely bitter, smoky notes
