If you like champagne, there is no reason why you should only reserve it for New Year's Day and you need a good champagne deal so that you can enjoy it on every special occasion and offer some to your friends.

The bottles from Champagne houses are major brands, often at prohibitive prices, and it is better to turn to champagnes from winegrowers, which are just as good and much less expensive. To find them, the best solution is to visit stores on the Internet.

Do not confuse good champagne deals with discounted champagne

Make no mistake, a good champagne deal means a champagne at a reasonable price but of optimal quality. To find one, it is not enough to rush to the first cheapest store but rather you must head towards a professional platform which selects for you the best champagnes from winegrowers.

This is the job of Champagne Terroir, which works in partnership with Champagne winegrowers who control the entire production chain of their champagne, from growing the vines to bottling.

Good champagne deal: what type of champagne to choose?

To help you in your choice, Champagne Terroir brings together the best champagnes for you and it is up to you to shop among the various selections.

Do you know the difference between Blanc de Blancs champagne and Blanc de Noirs champagne? It's not all about finding a good champagne deal, you still have to navigate among the multitude of choices.

In Champagne, three types of grapes are grown:

≈ pinot noir: black grape variety; ≈ Pinot Meunier: black grape variety; ≈ Chardonnay: white grape variety.

It is by the color of the grapes that you will be able to distinguish the types of champagne. The Blanc de Blancs come from Chardonnay while the Blanc de Noirs come from the Noir grape varieties, Pinot Noir or Meunier. The former are generally paler and less golden than the latter.

It may indeed be surprising that black grapes produce a golden but nevertheless blond champagne, but this is due to the fact that only the skin of the grapes contains coloring pigments. To obtain white juice, the bunches of black grapes must be pressed without delay, using direct pressing and, without maceration of the skins, no color.

Blanc de blancs et des blanc de noirs : aromas and flavors

Champagne Terroir offers all types of champagne and it's up to you to decide according to your taste.

Blancs de Blancs are considered lively, containing aromas of citrus, white flowers and white fruits such as white peaches or green apples. They are usually reserved for aperitifs, seafood and white meats.

Blancs de Noirs have the reputation of being more powerful but also rounder. Their fruit aromas are more oriented towards yellow fruits such as mirabelle plums, yellow peaches or red fruits. They work wonders with hot starters.

What about rosé champagne then?

A good champagne deal would not be complete without rosé champagne and Champagne Terroir offers you its selection of champagne from rosé winemakers. Newer than the whites, they are also more of a minority but they have their fans.

Their shades of rosé range from the most subtle shade, barely different from white, to grenadine red. It is customary to reserve them for the same use as white wines, as an aperitif and with seafood. The majority of rosé champagnes come from a blend of red wines and white wines.

“Rosés de saignée” are made exclusively from black grapes. It is the short maceration phase which allows the skins to tint the juices. Saignée rosés are generally more colorful and more powerful than blended rosés. They are often preferred with meats and desserts.
