The Champagne coteau "Contre vents et marées" ("against winds and tides") signed Vignon is a wine revealing all the elegance of the Pinot Noir.
It is made from Grand Cru vines located in Verzenay, a terroir renowned for the very high quality of its Pinot Noir.
This coteau is an original still wine. Indeed, it is made entirely from a parcel of vines selected from the best 1961 vines. These were multiplied and planted to give birth to a new generation of vines, the crème de la crème of the Vignon vineyard.
This wine is made with natural yeasts and was aged in barrels for 18 months.
The result is a red wine of great complexity. It is a wine with a surprising southern warmth, at times even bordering on Syrah, while retaining the finesse and elegance typical of Champagne wines.
A wine that will seduce you by its greediness and its great vintage!
We particularly recommend it with tender meat such as veal with chanterelles or wild boar.
Feel free to decant it a few hours before tasting!
Aspect: deep black cherry colour with bluish highlights.
Nose: opulent of red fruits, black cherries, peony and blackcurrant. Rather warm, southern with hints of Syrah. Yet full of finesse and elegance.
Palate: as opulent as the nose, generous in red and black fruits, with blackcurrant and a nice ageing. The finish is harmonious, with a beautiful silky texture suggesting a great future.

Stéphane Vignon is like an alien in a region that produces champagnes that are the exact opposite of his range!
This family-run house, located in Verzenay, produces rare champagnes, vinified only in parcels, all in Grand Cru, dosed in extra brut and vintage.
The wines of the house are quite simply authentic: mostly worked in barrels, with natural yeasts, without fining or filtration, and chaptalization, if nature allows it, is not sought after. The Vignon house is a straightforward, terroir-based champagne for all lovers of gastronomy!
