“Éclat de Noirs” is the most atypical cuvée in the Petitjean Pienne range.

While the house is primarily known for its Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs from the Côte des Blancs, it presents here a Blanc de Noirs sourced from parcels located in the Aisne.

Blending Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, this cuvée develops a fruitier, softer and more immediate style than the estate’s other Champagnes.

A freer and more accessible interpretation of the house’s expertise.

The indulgent counterpoint from a house historically focused on Chardonnay.

When you know Petitjean Pienne for its Blanc de Blancs from the Côte des Blancs, Éclat de Noirs can come as quite a surprise.

Here, there is no Grand Cru Chardonnay from Cramant or Avize, but rather a blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier from Celles-lès-Condé in the Aisne. An origin that may seem surprising at first, but also reflects the reality of Champagne estates: vineyard parcels are passed down through generations, sometimes far from the domaine’s historic village.

This cuvée allows the house to offer another interpretation of its expertise, with a Champagne that is more spontaneous and more accessible in expression.

Pinot Noir brings structure and backbone, while Pinot Meunier immediately enhances the wine’s fruity and generous character. The result is a softer and more open profile than the Blanc de Blancs in the range.

The choice to work exclusively with wines from the harvest year gives the wine immediate freshness and great clarity. Stainless steel vinification supports this search for purity and aromatic precision.

The Brut dosage naturally supports this balance, without overemphasizing richness.

Within the range, Éclat de Noirs holds a unique place: less tense and less mineral than the Chardonnay-based cuvées, it is an excellent gateway into the domaine’s universe for lovers of fruitier and more immediate Champagnes.

A convivial and versatile Champagne, perfect as an aperitif, with charcuterie boards, white meats or red fruit desserts.

Cramant - Côte des Blancs

Champagne Petitjean Pienne

Petitjean-Pienne is one of those confidential estates that perfectly embodies the spirit of the Côte des Blancs. At the heart of Champagne’s great chalky terroirs, the family works with Chardonnay with precision and simplicity, far from stylistic effects.

In Cramant, Avize and Chouilly, Marie Petitjean crafts Blanc de Blancs that remain faithful to what makes these terroirs great: purity of fruit, freshness and that characteristic chalky minerality.

Straightforward, accessible and consistent champagnes that perfectly reflect our vision: offering authentic, readable wines deeply rooted in their terroir.
