The Robert Allait Vieilles Vignes Cuvee 2004 vintage is a champagne with a rich and balanced palate that will enhance a meal or an aperitif composed of salty appetizers.
Its 100% Pinot Meunier (Blanc de Noirs) blend and its very long ageing time allows it to accompany various salty dishes such as fish, game, foie gras or scallops.
Its name "Vielles Vignes Cuvee" (Old Vines) stems from the parcel from which it is exclusively harvested. The vines were planted on this parcel in 1923.
This 2004 vintage was an incredibly abundant year that was particularly successful for Chardonnay and Pinot Meunier. This Champagne has been aged on slats for an exceptionally long period of 14 years.
Aspect: Expressive, powerful, subtle aromas of jammy fruit, light aromas of quince and liquorice.
Nose: Beautiful golden yellow color with amber reflections. Active effervescence, bubbles of great finesse. Clear and brilliant wine
Palate: Round on the attack with a pleasant freshness. Deep, generous, silky, with notes of candied fruit and toasted bread. Long persistence.
